Why we became trustees
“I became a trustee because it gives me a meaningful way to give back to a cause that supports members when they need it most. It allows me to contribute my skills, help ensure the Fund operates effectively and sustainably, and be part of decisions that provide practical support to members and their families during times of financial hardship.
The Benevolent Fund is invaluable, providing a vital safety net for members facing difficult circumstances. Being a trustee means being part of a collective effort that can make a lasting difference in people’s lives.”
Dave Whitaker
“I have been a member of the IPA for 28 years, with much of my work focused on small businesses. To me, being part of the IPA has always felt like being part of a community. When I meet a new member, I often say, ‘Welcome to the family.’
The Benevolent Fund is an extension of that community, helping members when illness, family circumstances, or unexpected hardship create short-term financial pressure.
Becoming a trustee is my way of giving back. It allows me to support members in a different way and, hopefully, make a meaningful difference when they need it most.”
Nola Luyten
“I became a trustee following my retirement from the IPA after 16 years, much of which was spent working alongside the IPA CEO and the IFA team during the amalgamation of the IFA and IPA and the formation of the IPA Group.
During that time, I came to deeply admire the work of the London team and their commitment to the SME sector. I also have a personal interest in welfare and a strong belief that support should be available to those facing difficult circumstances through no fault of their own.”
